Which operating system does Linutop run on and why is it optimized ?

Linutop currently runs on Linutop OS 5.0 which is an optimized version of Ubuntu Lucid Lynx.

We removed a few unnecessary applications and optimized the setup process to simplify the user experience and reduce maintenance costs. The operating system is lighter and fit better to the Linutop's dedicated use. That optimization is a key factor to energy efficience as the processor is less solicited.

The modifications also include:
- Drivers
- Setup Menu
- Linutop Kiosk
- Pre-installed software as VLC
